End of Term, New Ecard, and Work Placement.

And so it’s that time of year again. Uni work ends, and you end up sat there, wondering what to do; get a job or lay around all summer.

I’m hoping it’s the first one, but at the rate it’s going, I have no idea. I’ve emailed companies asking about placements, but only 1 has got back to me. Not good.

So I think I might sink my teeth into lots of freelancing! To boost the portfolio a bit more, I’ve added the final e-card (an interactive one), so hopefully that’ll help a bit.

I may be posting more on here also, what with all the spare time it seems I might have!

New Work added to Portfolio!

I finally got round to adding my animated e-cards to the portfolio. I was a bit unsure as to whether I should or not, as they run slowly in a browser, but in the end I decided it was better than not showing them.

Once my interactive one is done, I’ll upload that too.

New Munky Designs Site Design

It was about time we updated the site, and so we came up with this. We kept the simplicity of the old design, but we have added more features.

We now have more than one page! We have added a Gallery page to better showcase our work, and also a Bio page and a Contact page.

We have also updated the logo, as we felt the previous one was a bit flat.

Fresh site design, fresh branding, you might even see some new sites emerging soon!

A good friend and excellent artist, Adam Burleigh has continued to impress me with his painting and photoshop talent. Switching between digital and traditional media, his style is both detailed and emotive, often focusing on a particual characters expression.

Login Script Beta Complete

It’s taken a while, but I’ve finally completed a decent login script!

If you want to have a look, but not register, you can use:

u: username
p: password

It doesn’t look particularly appealing at the moment, but it all works (bar a few bugs probably.)

Current features are:

Fully object orientated system
Sematically correct markup
Server side and client side error checking
AJAX check username function

Hopefully over the next few days I’ll tweak it, refine the code, and get it up to version 1. Then I can start implementing it into new sites, and creating scripts around it.

I had some free time, so I searched for a template that didn’t look like a 4 year old designed it (harder that it sounds), and came up with this modified version.

Simple, Clean, although no doubt it will change a few more times in the coming weeks!

I might get around to posting up some content soon as well.

Welcome!

I know this doesn’t look like much at the moment, but hopefully, after a bit of work, it could become quite useful.

I don’t really have a clear use for this at the moment, but hopefully I can use it to note down things I have seen that I like, such as websites and artists, and also a space to review films, if I ever get round to writing one down.

I’ll also write about any sites I am working on, and what I intend to do on them.

For now, enjoy this horrible default blue!
